Advisor of Global Plastic Packaging Roadmap of WEF and Ellen MacArthur Foundation

Cyramid is a participant of Project MainStream, which is part of the World Economic Forum’s Circular Economy initiative, run in collaboration with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and McKinsey & Company, providing advisory services with a focus on biobsased plastics.

The programme aims to close the gap between the design of plastic packaging and the design of municipal systems. Today’s systems, designed in isolation, result in almost all packaging being made from virgin materials, and used just once and cause huge amounts of plastic waste.

The goal is to design a global plastic packaging roadmap (GPPR) which aims to address endemic issues of the current linear plastics economy, and provide an action plan towards an economically and environmentally attractive alternative - a new plastics economy. It will do so by focusing on the root cause of the problem and accelerating systemic change through innovation and collaboration.

The role of Cyramid is to provide expertise insights on biobased plastics and to develop pilot projects in the circular economy domain, together with other program partners. The projects includes partners such as IKEA, Nestlé, Coca Cola, Unilever, Veolia, DuPont, Suez Environment, New York City and others.
